On Sunday, Davidson's wrestling team competed in the NC State Open in Raleigh in another exhibition tournament. Scott Patrick '14 picked up a pair of wins over Matt Cox of Campbell and Dylan Ryan of Duke after dropping his first match against Virginia Tech's Jon Dickson. Austin Coburn eliminated Patrick in the semifinals with a one-point decision. Ben Hartshorn '15 enjoyed a standout performance as well, dominating his first opponent 8-4. Despite an 18-10 setback in his second match, he bounced back by winning a tough battle against The Citadel's Weston Beck 3-2. Hartshorn lost to eventual third-place finisher Matt Nelson of Virginia 6-4. Chris Cirenza '13 and Eddie Isola '15 both won matches as well, but each went on to lose their next two matches. The Wildcats next take on new SoCon member Campbell and South Dakota State in the Campbell Duals on Friday.
