    Name: Amanda Ottaway Year, Sport: Senior, Basketball From: Hollidaysburg, PA Position: Small Forward   -Favorite practice memory: One practice my freshman year, we fastened a heavy plastic lid over the rim so that we could practice rebounding. It made the ball bounce off in all crazy directions, and we'd have to chase it down.

  • Women finish sixth, Men take close second in CCSA Championships

    Both the men and the women finished their swimming season at the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association championships this weekend in Gabrielson Natatorium with the men narrowly missing the title, finishing second, and the women finishing sixth.  The men scored 884 team points this weekend, only 6.

  • Women’s Tennis falls to Campbell, beats USC-Upstate

    On Friday evening, the Davidson Wildcats women's tennis team rebounded from their loss to nationally ranked Virginia Tech by defeating USC Upstate 5-2.   Riding a pair of 8-4 wins from the doubles duos of Katharine Dicconson '12 and Brites Moniz-Soares '14, as well as Catherine Wood '13 and Frizzi Bschorer '14, the Wildcats got started early by winning the doubles point.

  • Wrestling closes regular season

    On Sunday, the Davidson men's wrestling team fell 39-10 to Appalachian State at Varsity Gymnasium in Boone, NC.  To open the match, Matt Zarth '13 pinned Tony Gravely in three minutes and thirty-one seconds in the 125 pound weight class to give Davidson a 6-0 lead.

  • BaseballRGB Baseball splits opening weekend series

    The Davidson baseball team lost its season opener on Friday night at Wilson Field to Niagara, 9-4, but rallied Saturday to beat LaSalle, 4-3.  The third game scheduled for Sunday against Bucknell was cancelled due to rain.   The Davidson Wildcats did not have enough to overcome four errors and an astounding 13 runners left on base against the Niagara Purple Eagles on Friday night.

  • Lacrosse loses Opener to American

    On Saturday, American University spoiled the women's lacrosse season opener by beating the 'Cats 12-6.  Last season's leading scorer Ann Fucigna '14 tallied two goals and added an assist for Davidson as she extended her multi-goal streak to eleven games (stretching back to the previous year).

  • ChrisCzerapovic Men’s Basketball crushes Samford, falls to Witchita State

    In the first nationally televised game in Belk Arena since the Curry era, Davidson took on No. 24 Wichita State on Saturday in Belk Arena. The Bracketbusters showdown didn't disappoint as Jake Cohen '13 kept the Wildcats in the game with 25 points on 10-14 from the field.

  • Women’s Basketball moves closer to first SoCon championship

    The women's basketball team has been on a roll lately, powering through the Southern Conference with its best run in program history. The last few days were no exception, as the 'Cats powered over Appalachian State on Saturday and then celebrated their seniors with a win over the Wofford Terriers on Monday.

  • TennisRGB Kunz, Men’s Tennis brush past Campbell

    Looking to end their home stand with a win, the Wildcats did just that against Campbell University on Saturday.  In a match that was down to the wire, Nicky Kunz '15 provided the winning point to wrap it up.   Davidson took the first point with the powerful duo of Joe Schafer '13 and Calum Gee '12 picking up the doubles victory 9-7 to improve their record to 4-1 on the year.
