Takeaways:

  • Elliott Polin ’22 spoke about two available budgets: the filmmakers club mid-year request and the sustainability collective mid-year request. The SGA members voted in favor of both requests.
  •  Sandro Chumashvili ’24 announced that on March 7th there will be a deliberation to discuss candidates running in the SGA election.
  •  Wren Healy ’23 spoke with Dean McCrae and updated the SGA that he is open to having office hours for the COVID committee to ask questions and express concerns.
  •  Kaia Larsen ’24 announced that first years are having another speed friending event on Saturday March 6th  from 11:00am-1:00pm at the back of commons.
  • Jack Sheehy ’21 launched the vote for SGA members to approve the candidates who are running unopposed. SGA members voted in favor of Brandon Harris ’22 as SGA President, Oguzhan Çölkesin ’22 as vice president and Richmond Brautigan ’22 as ATC vice chair for 2021.
  • SGA members held a feedback session where they discussed positive and negative takeaways from the past year.
    • Elly Hensley ’23 talked about how the shift to focus on projects was helpful and more productive.
    •  Danya Rangachar ’21 suggested that SGA could hold socially distanced meetings outside once the weather gets better. 
    • Tsega-Ab Abera ’22 made a positive comment on the committee updates and overall structure of the SGA meetings. He also mentioned that one thing SGA could improve upon is time management during meetings.
    • Oguzhan Çölkesin ’22 discussed expanding sga representation, specifically with athletes. He discussed that 25% of the student body are athletes and we only had one represented in SGA this year.
    • John Billups ’22 commented that SGA should increase their engagement with faculty and administration.
