Hackenson elected 119th Davidson SGA president
On Tuesday, it was announced that Billy Hackenson '13 will be the next Student Government Association President. The Category II elections, held Monday, were the culmination of a whirlwind week of campaigning and debate between Hackenson and his opponent, Elyas Munye '13.

New Davidson website enters first phase of ‘revamp’
A new Davidson homepage was launched on Feb. 14, the first phase in an ongoing project to revamp the Davidson website. The project aims to give visitors a sense of what Davidson as a community is about by incorporating digital multimedia and social media into the site, as well as making it more navigable and user friendly.

Student trip to India emphasized environmental studies
Davidson has offered its semester in India program continuously since 1981, now alternating between humanities oriented studies and, on odd numbered years, a theme based program. Last semester, the theme was ecology and environmental studies. It was the first time that a program with this theme has been offered at Davidson.

Producing honorable academic work is a clear priority for most, if not all, Davidson students. Davidson College prides itself on graduating students of integrity even in an intensely challenging academic environment. While other colleges may promote a meaningless honor code, Davidson students know that the Code here is truly lived, breathed and trusted for academic work.

Debunking myths about the Honor Council
‘The best honor code is an invisible honor code because that means people are following it.’
Although the Honor Code is an essential and ubiquitous element of the Davidson College community, the Honor Council remains shrouded in mystery for many students. The entirely student-run Honor Council will be busy with cases as usual this semester, but it will also be striving to accomplish an important new goal: to remove the intimidating mystery surrounding the Council.

Zoom, zoom, zoom: Zipcars to come to Davidson
Last Thursday, the SGA senators voted to introduce Zipcars to Davidson's campus next fall by an overwhelming majority. Allowing drivers ages 18 and up to get behind the wheel, Zipcar works with colleges to provide rental cars for students without vehicles on campus.

Common Ground prepares for multi-cultural event
Common Ground began as a passive response to a racially heinous event that took place in the town of Davidson over two decades ago. In 1986 the Ku Klux Klan led a march down Main Street. Instead of a bustling street of friendly shops, the road was filled with Klansmen.
