Ambitious sophomore gains attention for DJ work
Michael Brun, a sophomore from Haiti, has made a career out of his "free time." We've all seen him DJ either on the weekends or during Live Thursdays, but what some people may not know is that his career has recently started to take the pre-med student way outside of the Davidson bubble.

Commons brings uncommon to lunch with Show
Last Tuesday, Vail Commons hosted its annual Food Show. Students, faculty and Staff grazed on luscious samples from numerous vendors. Afterwards, diners wrote their favorites on a large pad of paper in hopes of seeing their requests as regular offerings in Commons at some point soon.

Starlings in flight: Gamut Dance Company’s sixth annual show
Gamut Dance Company filled Duke Family Performance Hall on last Friday and Saturday nights with a performance of deceiving proportions. With its diverse program, strong, nuanced, and devoted artistry, and (just as important) an invested and excited audience, Gamut made a case for the rightful place of dance among the other arts on this campus.

Think Pink: the why and how of Bosom Buddies
Valentine's Day may have come and gone, but the color pink won't disappear just yet. In fact, with Connor House kicking off their spring fundraising campaign for Bosom Buddies, the proliferation of pink is only beginning. Connor's multiple efforts to raise funds for breast cancer research, the pinnacle of which is the Bosom Buddies Gala, all go to Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test (Friends), a Greensboro-based organization devoted entirely to funding seed grants for research for a biological test for breast cancer, research that would not be done without support from this organization.

Forum held to reconfirm college’s commitment to sustainability
On Monday, February 13th, Davidson President Carol Quillen, former President Tom Ross, and Physical Plant Director David Holthouser celebrated the newly installed solar panels on Baker Sports Complex. The Baker solar panels are Davidson's first substantial renewable energy project.

Tour explores local farms
This past Saturday Know Your Farms held a farm tour with several area farms. The event took place from 2-7pm and participants had the option of choosing which farms they visited. Davidson's Eco House decided to take a group on the tour, and at 2pm about forty Davidson students and faculty met at the Eco House to travel to four area farms.

BT Club promotes awareness with Blood Diamond
Mende fisherman captured by the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) rebels, and an American journalist constitute an unlikely group, yet they set out on a mission together in search of a rare and valuable diamond in the 2006 film "Blood Diamond." The movie is set against the backdrop of Africa's political turmoil and was presented by Building Tomorrow last Thursday night.
